...when you go back to a place you haven't been to in years and everything is so much smaller than you remembered? I had that today. Went for a spin to Woodstock in Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny and got the fright of my life. For those of you not familiar with Inistioge, Woodstock is this old historical house that was burnt down sometime during the War of Independence, however the gardens are still open to the public.
I always remembered this house as MASSIVE, but alas, it is not. I felt like Alice when she drinks the potion and grows up really quickly.
Lots of families and little kids were there having picnics and playing football on the croquet lawns, looked like fun.
I, however, had the joy of being dragged around by my nerd of a brother to look at each and every tree. Stupid arborists.
He whooped and congratulated himself everytime he correctly identified a tree, and was doubly pleased when he could remember the Latin name along with it. Dork.

Ha, ha, let me guess, you two are opposites? That was really funny. It was nice of you, though, to go along to let him show off his knowledge of trees.
Hey Cheryl! We're actually quite alike me and my brother! Just very nerdy in different ways I suppose, I'll stick my head in a book for a day, while he's a bit more hands on with things. I secretly admire how much he knows, I'll blog about him more in the future, he's a very interesting person!
Your brother sounds cool! It's always nice to see young people with a thirst for knowledge.
I can't believe I said 'young people.' It's happening.
BMD that certainly is a sign of your age! He's a funny one indeed, don't get me wrong though, he's only very clever with names like that if it's something he's genuinely interested in, he was never much of a nerd in school. He really is living proof of the flaws in the Irish educational system.
